Notable Moments

We have been home for a week now, and all three of us are adjusting to life with a baby. Everyone's new best friend is the Buddy Bear who was introduced in the last post - since Will met him, he has been sleeping in his crib, in his own room and we have sole possession of our bed. Will sleeps 2-4 hours at a stretch, then wakes up to be fed, but it is working out well for all.

Nate has been having all the fun - he was the first to get pooped on - he was holding Will, waiting for him to finish filling his diaper, but apparently the diaper wasn't up to the job - there was leakage . . . He also got to be the first one to be peed on during a diaper change, so that's fun for him. I'm sure my turn will come.

We have made our first couple of ventures out of the house - first to Grandma & Grandpa Moffett's for a little visit. We also went to school one morning to figure out a good plan for me - and it turns out I will be skipping all the opening meetings and just staying home with the baby, and getting important info from Nate. I am kind of relieved, but will still have to go in to get things ready for my sub and meet with her to make sure she will know how to be me - sort of . . .

Another evening we went to BabiesRUs to finish stocking up on necessary supplies - foremost being a diaper pail. The little garbage can we had been using was filling up every 12 hours! Will was not as excited about his first shopping trip as we had hoped - we had to take a small snack break in the mother's room, which did not quite meet my hygiene standards . . .

Bathtime has also been an event - since his umbical cord is still attached, sponge baths are the norm, but not so much his favorite. But we have all survived the experience. I know there have been more notable moments, but I will leave the rest to the pictures.

So fun for you! Congrats on the crib. That's the best!

Yeah, you would think the bathrooms in a place like that would be a little cleaner---the one by us is disgusting!

I must remember the magic of "buddy bear" for our next baby.

Hamilton peed on us (and everything else) more often than not. His aim and range was pretty incredible. Glad you get to enjoy some of the same.

And Babies R Us...it's a truly a love/hate relationship...super convenient store that manages to disappoint on almost every level.
