We had our first visitors!! My sister Heather and her husband Ron came and we took the opportunity to show them some of our favorite things, and to see some of the "tourist" stuff we have been saving. Due to various blogger and computer issues, this will be only a smattering of the fun we had, the rest will come later. Will was so excited for Hedder and Ronny (since his name sounds like Nate's brother Rodney, he became Ronny again), and he saved a seat at the dinner table for Hedder right next to him. We had school the first day they were here, so we sent them to Mall of the Emirates right by our apartment and they got to check out Ski Dubai - they were duly impressed. We introduced them to Indian food - they were fans, and took them to Jumeirah Beach Walk - Dubai's version of a boardwalk on the beach where we went out for Mexican food. Will loves beans and rice, and a good cheese quesadilla, so that is picture number one. Another adventure was Aquaventure - the big waterpark at the Atlantis Resort, and it was a blast for everyone. They had free life jackets (the only free thing there:)) and a great lazy river that had a section of rapids! That is where Will and I spent our day, and we also checked out the aquarium that a couple of the slides go through. Ron and Nate hit most of the rides - even the giant 6 story Leap of Faith that they said was awesome and they took Heather on a couple of others with them.

Will had fun just splashing around in the shallow pool, and making friends with the many other kids who were doing the same thing.
We went as close to the top of the world as you can get inside a building and had lunch at the at.mosphere lounge in the Burj Khalifa on the 123rd floor. The food was pretty good, and the view was as impressive as it should have been.
Heather and Ron had fun (I hope) riding in the back seat of the car with Will and playing with him, reading stories and seeing all his animals, and he loved having extra people to give him attention and loves.
This is after our lunch in the Burj, and I am wearing evidence of one of our other adventures - a trip to old Dubai to the souqs - flea market type shops where you can bargain and find "local" treasures. Our other adventures, both cultural and worldly will have to wait, and hopefully blogger will be more cooperative with picture order and uploading. But with this little teaser, don't you all want to get on a plane and see Dubai with us?
