Snippets

Days go quickly by and babies get bigger.  Tyson finally fits into these super cute jammies - he looks like a little man.  He is sitting up on his own, and has found his (very loud) voice that he uses to get our attention when it has been too long diverted elsewhere.  He loves his baby food, and eats pretty much any flavor.
Nate took the kids to watch some friends from church (kids) play baseball, and as soon as Finley heard they were going to watch ball, she found some tiny little balls for her baby to take along.  Nate was in heaven.  Until her shorts kept falling down every time she tried to run anywhere (hand me down's from friends, but didn't realize they were a size too big, and then she had to go to the bathroom and he had all three kids…  Speaking of having to go to the bathroom, I was on my way home with the kids one day, and Finley had to go, and was pretty desperate.  We were about 20 minutes out, and kept hitting every light - and the light cycles here are eternally long.  She was in tears, so I had a great idea, and made it to a slip road, where we hurriedly put one of Tyson's diapers on her - a tight fit, but did the job.  No peepee in the new car!  yeah me.
I can't remember what her drama was here, but she was determined to be in the picture, tears or not.
She loves sitting in the chair too, and putting her babies in.  She loves all her babies, and we took them to the doctor several times this weekend because they were sick, but she has found another love - tractors.  We have been tripping on the rug in our living room, because she keeps putting books under the edges.   After removing them at least 3 times, Nate finally saw her driving a little tractor over the "mountains".  And tonight after I tripped on them again and said she had to stop, she told me, "But I need them there for my tractors."  Love that little bundle of contradictions.
Nate finally had a free Saturday, and was dying to take the kids out to experience some kind of nature. We drove north to another Emirate where we found the mountains and "goat land" - they were everywhere.  The kids got to do a little rock climbing, and fell down on said rocks, so they had the scars to prove their adventures.

They even found a tree to climb...

And everyone's favorite moment - a goat in a tree.  Yep - a goat hanging out in the tree, eating.  We watched long enough to see him climb down, and it spurred Will to write an entry in his journal for school so he could tell his class all about it.
Tyson has 4 teeth - 2 on the top, and 2 on the bottom - cute, but not my favorite.  He is still learning how to use them properly… and he likes to bite everything.  One night it was Nate's toe when he was sitting in his bumpo on the floor while Nate was on the couch by him, and today, it was a little piece of my chest.
After a birthday party at the blowing alley today, and a couple of hours of being hauled around by me, courtesy of a flat stroller tire, he was pretty wiped out - poor kid.
Finally, abbreviated transcript of a conversation with Will on the way home from school one afternoon:
Will:  I wish I was a girl.
Mom:  (Hiding some chuckles) why do you want to be a girl?
Will:  Girls can have zoo legos.
Mom: But boys can't have zoo legos?  …  Why else do you think you would rather be a girl?
Will: Girls want to get married.
(He mentions every once in awhile that he doesn't want to get married, or else he will say who he wants to marry.)
Mom:  Why don't you want to get married?
Will:  I hate lipstick.

I didn't hide my laughter after that.
