I don't feel like a whole lot needs to be said in this post - the pictures kind of speak for themselves about why we love Finley. But I'll throw in some of the things she loves right now, and some of her new tricks:)
She grabbed the ball and bat all on her own and kept trying to hit the ball with the bat. There is a really good chance we have a tomboy on our hands.
Right after the stitches came out - it keeps looking better every day - I have high hopes that it will be unnoticeable after awhile.
Some of her favorite things- fridge magnets - she likes to pull herself up on the fridge, and just swipe off as many as she can reach, then carry them throughoug the house and chew on them. She also loves the ball basket - of course.
We celebrated her birthday a little early - on Saturday, with some friends from church so we could fully enjoy it without having to rush around after school. Fin wouldn't take her afternoon nap, so she was pretty tired, and we had to hurry through the cake and presents before she fell asleep. My crafty (in a quilting way, not sneaky) friends brought us the cute banner and hat to borrow for the festivities - and a super cute dress and fun chunky puzzle for Finley.
It took a few minutes and a little help from mom getting some cupcake in her mouth, but once she tasted it, she was fully on board. A few days later, I found a swipe of pink frosting still on the pantry cupboard that is right next to her high chair. Gross. Oh, and apparently I didn't take time to wipe her dinner off her mouth before we moved on to birthday cake and pictures. She'll thank me later I'm sure.
She didn't get much time with her presents - the bigger kids thought they were too cool to share. Ethan Anderson - 18 months is one of the friends who came to the party - his big sisters Annaliese and Emilee were there too, and Allison Kennett, who is two, competed for the puzzle:)
More of Fin's favorites - unrolling the toilet paper, pulling silverware out of the dishwasher and flinging it around the kitchen (and the dishes are always dirty), pulling herself up on the toilet while Will is using it, and she is still scooting around one handed. She also likes hanging out by Will while he plays with his play dough, and throwing the little shape cutters around. She still has just four teeth - two on top and two on the bottom, and weighs around 19 pounds.
Calista went all out, and brought her several presents, and even brought one for Will so he wouldn't feel left out. The little doll (you can only see her feet) is adorable, but unsurprisingly, super noisy. (Most toys Calista brings sing or make some noise that makes us insane. But this doll takes the cake - no pun intended. Although not dressed like one, she's a cheerleader - and kind of a mean one. She yells stuff like "Cookies, cookies, cookies and cream. What's the matter with the other team? Nothing, nothing, nothing at all. They just can't play ball." Another favorite, "Something, something, then I'm going to wiggle it, just a little bit..." I took the batteries out today.

i can't believe she is one!! holy cow, time flies. she is adorable!
i had to laugh when i read about the noisy toys. i was standing in a toy aisle at xmas time and this gma was grabbing a toy that was totally obnoxious and asked her husband if they should get it, and he said, "why not? it's not going to be at our house." apparently calista feels the same way!! hehe
