The parent organization at our school is pretty amazing and their work is really visible in the elementary school. At Halloween, the foyer turns into a spooky forest, and this year we got to see how they do Christmas. Santa's Workshop takes over the conference room, and all the kids get to go and get a picture (or several if they want to fork over the $$) with Santa. They scheduled the nursery kids some time this year, so Nate and I came over to take some of our own pictures too.

Will's Santa exposure prior to this was limited to a our branch Christmas party last year, so he wasn't really sure what was happening and the "mood lighting" added to his apprehension. His friend Sam was in line before him, and cried, so that didn't help either.

But with a little help from Mom, he made it onto Santa's lap and no tears were shed. No smiles were doled out either, and the picture we paid for didn't turn out any better than the one Nate got - with the dim lighting, and the photographer's flash, we are all abnormally bright, even Santa...

So, next year we will try again for a picture perfect Santa's lap experience. For now, Will has been there and done that, and recognizes Santa. Merry Christmas!
