Our friends, the Anderson's invited us out after church on Friday for dinner and an Easter egg hunt with their girls, Annaliese and Emilee. At first Will wasn't sure what to do, but the girls helped him, and shared the eggs and other treats scattered around the yard. Once Will had two eggs - one for each hand, he was good to go - he just ran around the yard shaking his eggs and laughing. Then he saw the girls opening the eggs, and realized their were animal crackers inside, and he was in toddler heaven!
I decided to use the resources I had, so Will's basket was actually a little toolbox from Grandma, but it did the trick and he was pretty excited to have it full of new and interesting stuff. He really liked the toothbrush with the elephant (ooh ee ee is how he says elephant) head cover and the cow and monkey with magnets in their feet.
On Sunday morning, we had another egg hunt at the park with Will's friends from the nursery at school. Because our school is American, we got to have Sunday off, which is usually our first work day of the week.
Will and his friend Sam - they are best buds! After cooling off at home for a bit, (temps are up in the 90's by 9ish) we decided to head to the Hatta Fort Hotel, about an hour and half away, and try to find the natural pools that are in the mountains nearby. We were delayed by the offer of camel rides though!
You can't really see it, but I have a huge cheesy grin on my face - I am riding a camel! Our camel's name was Shaheen, which means falcon, and she is 10 years old. Will was so brave - he went up and petted the camel all by himself, and when we finished our ride, he went back to pet its nose - but apparently got a little too close because the camel kind of butted her head at Will and scared him pretty good. But he got over it, and went for another ride with Nate.
It is actually kind of scary when they stand up and sit down - it's almost a 45 degree angle, and you feel like you will fall over its head! But wow - what an awesome day!
