We interrupt this travelogue for a birthday party!

I know it's very cliched, but I can't believe my baby is 2!  I also don't know why I have such unrealistic expectations of my abilities to make themed birthday cakes.  Anyhow, I think you can tell it's a butterfly, and she enjoyed eating it, so that's really all that matters right?  Since Fin's birthday fell on a Tuesday, we decided to just keep it to us, and were able to skype Grandma and Grandpa Webb in time to sing and blow out candles with us, then Grandma and Grandpa Moffett to open presents with us, so it worked out perfectly.
Will helped with the candle - she wasn't sure what to do with that, but she knew exactly what to do with a plate full of cake and ice cream:)
A few current things:  weight is about 23 pounds, word count is about 5: NO, uh-huh, whoa, wow, mama, dada, and an occasional hi.  She LOVES talking to people on the computer, and I love the virtual hugs and literal on the screen kisses both kids give - they wrap their arms around the laptop to give hugs.  She does a super-cute double handed wave, and loves building train tracks with her brother, running, and copying him when he is acting like animals.  Opening and closing doors gives her an incredible feeling of power - she likes to venture into the hallway sometimes to play ball, or chase Will.  She hates when we all leave in the morning for school, and loves reading books, just like her brother.  She likes pushing things - her car, her shopping cart, baby stroller etc. and putting on pants.  She has started wearing big girl underwear during the day a bit with Calista, and is pretty proud of herself when she uses the big kid potty.  She loves holding people's hands - seeing her and Will walking hand in hand is top 5 on the adorable-ness meter, and she likes crawling into his bed at night to snuggle and laugh for a bit before she goes to her crib.  She has a little (we hope) defiant streak, and sometimes that NO has a lot behind it, but she's mostly a sweetheart.
Based on her obsession with Will's new bike, we thought we knew exactly what to get her for her birthday, and when she tried it out at the store, she was pretty into it (yes, both kids came birthday shopping with us, but we did make actual purchases on the sly...)
Now that we have this little balance bike home, (yes, the lack of pedals is intentional), she is kind of scared of it, so we will give it some time and then start practicing.  She likes the hopscotch puzzle - she is into hopping right now too.

Nate found this perfect bench at Ace Hardware for about $25 - both kids love it.  It was originally meant for the balcony, but after assembling it, we realized it probably wouldn't stand up to the wind, sun and dust out there, so it gets to live inside.

Happy Birthday sweet girl  - we love you.
