Fujairah & Camel Encounters
In the dreary days of winter, two small bright spots were MLK, Jr. Day and President's Day and the accompanying three day weekends. Here in Muslim country, they celebrate the Prophet Muhammed's birthday in the middle of February, and we got a nice 5 day weekend to honor him. We decided to travel to the emirate of Fujairah on the western side of the peninsula. Some friends from church, the Anderson's joined us on our adventure. For once, cheaper was if not better, definitely acceptable - we chose our resort by price, and it turned out to be a winner. It was pretty relaxing, we just hung out by the beach, collected sea shells, and rode the free paddle boats.
On our trek home, we took the back roads, and found more of our favorite wildlife...

Whoa, that looks so pretty!
Read your last post as well...and thinking, what travelers you are! Impressed that you're taking such advantage of everything...maybe you'll inspire me to do some more southern CA exploration!

Okay, when am I going to get used to the idea that you just randomly see camels?
