Summer - Week 1

Ahhh, the joys of summer - and 2+ hour naps. The story has oft been told of little baby Meridee and the piles of story books in her crib, and how I would entertain myself either before or after a nap with them. When my mom was here visiting, she put a book in Will's crib one day when she put him down for a nap, and the rest is history. It usually takes him about 30 minutes to decide to stop reading, playing, talking to himself and occasionally whining a bit, but we are starting to see some good solid naps - hallelujah! It is so funny to listen to him on the monitor - and now we wish we had shelled out the extra $$ for the video one.

Other adventures we've enjoyed so far were a trip to Nate's brother Rodney's on Memorial Day for a little swim and bbq. Will loved the fountain in the pool, but not so much the giant blow up turtle - it was a little intimidating to him. He also loved the cool dog hat and sunglasses Nate scored for $1 each at Target:).

Cousin Darren gave him a little drum lesson - he thought it was pretty awesome.

We had some friends, the Schlingers, over for dinner, and Will loved chasing Hope and Jack all over the house - Jack even inspired him to start climbing the stairs. Fortunately, he hasn't really shown any interest since, because there isn't anything interesting on the landing now.

Helping Daddy fix the fridge door was also fun, and his new skill of standing up was helpful as we were cleaning out the fridge - Will's summer to do list is full of more entertaining things than ours...

And of course, it wouldn't be summer at the Moffett's without a little baseball. The DBacks actually won the game, and Will got a free batting helmet (Warning: Not for use when actually batting).

Tomorrow, we leave for Philadelphia and DC for a visit with Jami, and a job fair - cross your fingers for us on the long travel days, and especially with the myriad job possibilities that we hope are out there...
